Senior Services

Many services are offered for senior citizens by Central Oregon Council on Aging (COCOA) at the Jefferson County Senior Center located at 860 SW Madison in Madras.

The COCOA Coordinator/Case Manager can be reached at the senior center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at (541) 475-6494.

Senior Meals
COCOA provides a hot meal program for seniors at noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and serves Meals On Wheels daily.

Other services include information and referral for local senior services, social and recreational activities, educational classes of interest to seniors, a legal assistance program and in-home care assistance.

Senior Center Activities
Monday is "Fun Day" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning with line dancing at 10 a.m., the Seniors of Jefferson County potluck at noon on the second Thursday of the month, and other activities. Tuesday sing-a-longs at 11:30 a.m., just prior to the luncheon. Wednesday is free exercise classes at 10:30 a.m., cards at 1 p.m. Thursday - American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) potluck the third Thursday of the month, Friday - exer4cise classes at 10:30 a.m., bingo at 12:30 p.m., AARP pinochle, open to all players, at 7 p.m.

Dial-A-Ride
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, local runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday the van goes to Bend 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
